Shipping & Orders

We ship worldwide. Every piece is carefully packaged in eco-friendly materials to ensure it arrives in perfect condition, no matter where in the world you are. If your country does not appear during checkout, contact us and we will do our best to arrange delivery.

Orders are processed quickly, so changes are not always possible. If you made an error, contact us immediately at support@bombonacolombia.com and we will do everything we can to help before the order ships.

Every Bomboná piece arrives in its protective fabric dustbag and our signature luxury box — already ready to gift, with no additional packaging needed. You can also add a personalised note during checkout.

The Leather

Yes. All Bomboná pieces are made with full-grain leather sourced from Nariño, Colombia — a region celebrated for its exceptional leather quality and centuries-old tanning traditions.

It is the highest grade of leather that exists. Because it comes from the outermost layer of the hide, it retains its natural texture and authentic imperfections — which is precisely what makes every bag unique. It is durable, breathes naturally, and ages with elegance, developing a patina that no factory can reproduce.

Full-grain leather lasts decades, softens with use while maintaining its strength, gains character and patina over time, and reflects the natural essence of the hide. This is fundamentally different from corrected-grain or bonded leather — cheaper alternatives that peel, crack, and degrade within a few years.

The Craft

Each piece is a work of art made entirely by hand by independent artisans in Colombia. We work mainly with women who are custodians of traditional techniques passed down through generations — the same techniques used to craft the original Carriel for over two hundred years.

Our pieces fuse Colombian artisan mastery with modern, sophisticated functionality. Inspired by heritage, nature and feminine strength, each piece balances craft with timeless elegance. The cowhide pieces are especially unique — the spot pattern on each one is formed by the animal's natural markings, meaning no two pieces are ever identical.

The Bag

The standard Carriel weighs 0.7–0.8 kg, and the Mini version weighs 0.6 kg. They are lighter than traditional Carriels while still featuring three internal compartments and two zip pockets — everything you need, nothing you don't.

Yes — the standard Carriel is surprisingly spacious. A folding umbrella fits comfortably alongside your phone, keys, wallet and glasses. This does not apply to the Mini version, which is designed for a more compact everyday carry.

Care & Sustainability

Clean gently with a dry cloth and apply a natural leather conditioner every 3–4 months. Store in a cool, dry place inside its cloth dustbag, away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity. Keep it upright or flat — never hang it — to preserve its shape. For cowhide pieces, brush gently in the direction of the hair with a soft natural-bristle brush.

Sustainability is our fundamental pillar. We use locally sourced leather, produce in small batches (slow fashion) to reduce waste, support ethical labour practices, and use vegetable-based inks and minimal plastic-free packaging. Our protective dustbags are made in collaboration with a single mothers' association in Bogotá.
